It’s official the 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend themes are out—and Disney did not hold back on the magic this year. From Zootopia to Aladdin, the race themes are all about celebrating iconic duos and the power of friendship—and honestly, that just feels right.
But before we get swept away by the sparkle of new medals and the temptation to run dressed as a cartoon animal, let’s talk registration—because if you’ve ever tried to register for a runDisney race before (hello, Princess chaos ), you know it’s a race before the race.
Why I’m So Excited: The Themes Are Everything
This year’s themes are pure Disney gold. Each race brings a unique vibe and character pairing:
5K: Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde – Channel your inner bunny cop and sly fox energy for a zippy, energetic race.
10K: Pooh & Tigger – Bouncing is guaranteed. Nostalgia? Off the charts.
10-Miler: Joy & Sadness – Because long runs are full of emotions (and possibly tears).
Challenge: Aladdin & Genie – Three races, 19.3 miles, and a wish-worthy medal. Count me in.
Yoga: Lilo & Stitch – Chill, stretchy, and a perfect Hawaiian welcome to race weekend.
Each race reflects a part of what makes RunDisney special—emotion, energy, fun, and community.

Lessons We Learned from Princess Registration
If you were online for the Princess Half registration last month, you know it was more stressful than deciding between Mickey bars or churros. So let’s do this smart. Here's what we learned:
Log in early – The waiting room opens ~10–15 minutes before 10 AM. Be there. Be refreshed. Be ready.
Use multiple devices/browsers – Your phone, your laptop, your work computer (shhh). Every extra window is a chance. (reminder Chrome is NOT our friend)
Be decisive – Challenge or individual races? Know before go-time. Waffling costs precious seconds.
Have your info ready – T-shirt size, emergency contact, credit card, blood type (okay not that, but close).
Don’t panic – You may sit in the queue a while. Stay calm, stay logged in, and don’t refresh once you’re in line.
Be ready for backups – If your dream race sells out, be flexible. That 10K might lead to your new favorite memory.
What I’m Registering For
Oh, I’m going all in for the Challenge. There’s just something magical about collecting all those medals, dressing up for every race, and really earning that Aladdin & Genie bling. Plus—let’s be real—I want to be part of every race day photo op.
And yes, I’m 100% doing the yoga session with Stitch. Chaos + mindfulness = me.
Final Thoughts
The 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend is shaping up to be one of the most fun, emotional, and community-driven events runDisney has ever put together. Whether you’re racing with your bestie, flying solo like Jasmine before she met Aladdin, or bouncing your way through the 10K as Tigger, there’s something here for every kind of runner.
Now, go set your alarms, charge your devices, prep your coffee pot for an early morning on July 29, and let’s get ready to run. ✨
